Taking Care of Your Kidneys

When thinking about your health, you may not think about the health of your kidneys. However, 1 in 3 people are at risk for kidney disease. Often people do not find out they have kidney disease until it is in advanced stages. At your next annual wellness exam ask your doctor about the following tests:

Blood Pressure Test - High blood pressure can damage the kidneys
Testing for Protein in the Urine - Protein in your urine can be an early sign of kidney disease
Blood Urea, Serum Creatinine, and Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) - These blood tests measure how well the kidneys are working
Blood Sugar - Uncontrolled diabetes causes kidney disease

Eating healthy can be easier than you think.

A co-worker uses the app and Lifestyle Coaching to improve his blood pressure and achieve weight loss. In the past, he skipped meals and ate sugary and salty snacks.
