Mental Health Awareness

Mental health is just as important as your physical health. Just as you would treat a physical problem, such as a broken leg or high blood pressure, your mental health deserves the same level of care. Use the following tips to help care for your mental health:

Find a hobby ‒ This can give you something to look forward to after a rough day.
Get regular exercise ‒ This can boost your endorphins, your brain's feel good neurotransmitters.
Eat healthy meals ‒ Give your body the nutrients it needs to work at its best level.
Get some fresh air ‒ Nature and sunshine are great for the body and mind.
Sleep ‒ Being tired can make everything seem worse. Reduce exposure to electronics before bed. Do a relaxing activity, such as reading a fantasy book, to help calm your mind.
Practice gratitude ‒ Even when so much in your life seems to be going wrong, it's important to realize what you have to be thankful for!
Talk to someone ‒ A therapist can help you find new coping strategies and give tips and education to make you feel better.
